Frequently Asked Questions
Who are the Friends of Stanbridge?
We are the school's Parent Teacher Association (PTA). When your child starts school, you automatically become a member of the PTA. We are all volunteers with the aim to raise funds to help the school.
Why do you need to fund raise, shouldn't the school provide everything?
As with all schools, funds often don't stretch as far as the Governors would like which is why the Friends of Stanbridge are important. We often pay for the nice things (such as the play equipment) but are also asked for contributions for more everyday items such as curtains or furniture.
How have the Friends of Stanbridge made a difference recently?
We donated over £2,500 last school year. Here are a few of those donations...
Numeracy Homework Project
A New Piano
A New Stereo for Wake and Shake and Dance at Breaktimes
New Planters and Plants for the school grounds
Partial funding of the Yr3 trip to Puzzlewood - due to cancelled swimming lessons
Year 6 leavers gifts
And lots more!
What are Friends of Stanbridge fund raising for now?
Following a Teacher/Governor/PTA planning meeting, school needs are being prioritised and a detailed plan will follow, showing us where best we can help.
We also receive regular funding requests from Teaching Staff
I've never been on a committee, would they want me? Can I help?
Absolutely! Some people who like to turn up at an event and help, others love being part of team, organising and helping to get an event up and running. We run one committee meeting per half term - usually on the second week back, for about 2 hours. If you can't make a meeting, there are always minutes distributed so you can still get involved.
